Choicer Voicer on Mobile: Play on iPhone and Android

There is no Choicer Voicer mobile app to download here, and you don't need one. The browser version of the game runs on iPhone, iPad and Android phones, and the play screen is designed for a portrait phone held in one hand.

Requirements

You also need a data or Wi-Fi connection to load the page. Recording and playback happen on the device.

How the mobile layout works

The desktop view shows a wide stage with the timeline underneath. On a phone the game stacks:

1. Stage – scene art, the speaking character and the caption in large type.
2. Status – Listen, Get ready, Recording or Review.
3. One control – a large Done button while recording, then Retry / Accept.

You never need to scroll during a line. The full timeline is shown on the play page below the game if you want to see where you are.

Tips for phones

• Use earbuds. Phone speakers are close to the mic, so the reference voice can bleed into your take. Wired or Bluetooth earbuds fix that.
• Hold it like a call. Ten to fifteen centimetres from your mouth is plenty. Don't cover the bottom edge where the mic usually lives.
• Keep the screen awake. Locking the phone stops the recording.
• Turn up media volume. The reference voice follows the media volume, which is separate from the ringer.

Playing with friends on phones

The easiest format is same scene, own phone: everyone opens the same link, records and shares the score. For pass-and-play on one phone, choose Play all characters and hand the phone over after each Accept.

Common mobile problems

• No permission prompt: you're probably in an in-app browser. Open the link in Safari or Chrome. See Allow Microphone on iPhone Safari.
• Recording stops instantly: another app is using the mic (voice memo, call). Close it.
• Takes play back silent: update iOS or try Chrome on Android.
